Awkward moment

A happy sigh escaped the lips of Captain Teague and he rested back in relaxation. His arms draped over the sides of the metal bathtub and he let his troubles melt away in the warm soapy water. Gently Captain Teague closed his eyes and drifted off.  About five minutes later there was a knock at the door and a voice. "Da?"

His peace ruined, Teague stirred making the water slowly swirl around him. "What now Jackie?"

"How much longer are yer gonna be?"

"Not much longer, c'mon in"

Jack opened the door and strode in, but when he glanced at the tub and he almost fell over. "FUUUUUUUUUCKIN' HELL!" Jack immediately shut his eyes and turned his back on his father. Teague let out a laugh which was croaky with age "What's up boy? Did I startle ye?"

Jack kept his back to Teague and shuddered 'I wouldn't say startle, maybe scar for life a bit closer' Teague chuckled in surprise, he didn't expect Jack to be so modest. Normally the lad couldn't keep his breaches on so this was to Teague, intriguing. Perhaps he could have a little fun.

"Jackie?"

"What?"

"Be a good lad and get me paper."

Jack crossed him arms. "I'm no lad."

Teague rolled his eyes "go on Jackie."

Jack muttered somthing and made haste for Teague's study. "That's right Jackie." he mumbled to himself. "Get Daddy's paper, tha's a good boy! Gawd almightily... 38 years old and I'm still runin' around for me father like some..." what Jack was running around like was never found out for he spotted his father's paper on the desk. Jack quickly snatched it up "weird, he don't normally read the paper in the bath..." Jack sighed and walked back to the bathroom and handed the Paper to Teague.

"Here..."

Teague reached out and took the paper from Jacks hands "thank ye Jackie boy"

Jack tried to give Teague the evil eye but he was trying too hard not let his gaze fall on his father's exposed body.

"Can I go now?"

"Ye sure?" Teague patted a chair next to the bathtub "Why don't cha sit ere' and talk to me for while?" he suggested.

Jack grunted with disgust 'I'd rather be eaten by turtles'

Teague sighed and shook his head "I dunno what's wrong with ye" he began "when yer were a wee babe ye used follow me around everywhere. Always talkin' to me, trying to get my attention...'

"DA!"  Jack exclaimed.

Teague gave a gold-toothed grin as a response.

Jack's face flushed and he stormed out the bathroom slamming the door behind him; making the objects in the bathroom shake. Teague threw back his head and laughed and placed the paper on the table. The truth was he never wanted to read the paper at all; he just wanted to see the look on his son's face "It was worth it" Teague decided leaning backwoods into the water "it was worth it"
